Sweden’s Energy Minister believes that the country should focus on steel production, rather than bitcoin mining.

Speaking to Swedish news outlet Expressen, Khashayar Farmanbar, Sweden's Energy Minister said that the country would be better off focusing on more traditional industries.

Mining is an energy-intensive process, and it is estimated that the bitcoin network consumes more electricity than the entire country of Switzerland.

"We need energy for more useful things than bitcoin, to be honest," said Farmanbar. "We are moving from a period of administration to an extreme expansion where our entire manufacturing industry is seeking to electrify."

Sweden produces a large amount of steel, and Farmanbar believes that this is where the country should be focusing its efforts. "..mining is what we should be using power for when we can use it for making fossil-free steel, for example? It is not entirely trivial in a free market."

News about zkEVM send $MATIC up 23.5%

The news of zkEVM coming soon send $MATIC up 23.5%, and get everyone talking.

zkEVM is a project that aims to bring the benefits of zero-knowledge proofs to the Ethereum Virtual Machine. In short, it could make the transactions a lot more private and secure.

With zkEVM, Polygon could become one of the most secure and private Ethereum scaling solutions out there. This would be a major selling point for the project and could lead to more adoption and use of Matic Network.

So what does this all mean for $MATIC holders? Well, it could mean big things. If Matic Network is able to successfully launch and implement zkEVM, it could become the go-to solution for secure and private Ethereum scaling. This would be a major coup for the project and could lead to a significant increase in the price of $MATIC.

So if I was holding $MATIC, I'd keep an eye out.

Lido announces plans to expand on Layer2

Lido Finance, a crypto-staking service provider, has announced its plans to expand stETH support across Ethereum L2 networks.

This move would provide users with more flexibility and choice when it comes to staking their ETH.

With the rise of Ethereum Layer two (L2) networks, there are now a variety of different chains to choose from, each with its own set of benefits and drawbacks.

Lido's expansion into L2 will give users more options when it comes to staking their ETH, and help them get the most out of their investment. According to Lido Finance, it has more than 4.2 million staked ETH on their platform, making it one of the largest platforms in terms of total value locked (TVL) in the DeFi space.
